With only a few days left for Christmas, Kia has jumped on the holiday season bandwagon releasing a cheerful new ad featuring the brand's Ray city car that was recently launched in South Korea.

The commercial shows the Ray playing along the Jingle Bells tune with the sounds being created by opening and closing the tall hatchback's regular and sliding doors, hood and compartment area dividers, as well as by using its turning signals, warning jingles and horn.

2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 380 GT Makes a Quick Appearance on Film

It has been a while in internet time since we last heard about the revitalized 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe – a little over a month, to be precise, when the facelifted model was introduced in its home market of South Korea.

We still don't know when and where Hyundai plans to debut the sports car in North America, although we presume it will most likely take place in one of the upcoming international motorshows like the Detroit venue in January, the Chicago Auto Show in February or the New York Auto Show in April.

"The export of thousands of Camry vehicles to South Korea is an important development that builds on the great work of our talented U.S. team members as well as our extensive investments across North America to help maintain a strong, stable base of U.S. jobs," said Yoshimi Inaba, president and COO of Toyota Motor North America, Inc.

Korean Tow Trucks Break Every Law in the Book while Trying to Reach an Accident Scene First [Video]

We completely understand that in certain life-threatening situations, police cars, fire trucks, ambulances and other emergency vehicles should have the priority on the road - even if that means breaking some laws, as long as they don't endanger the lives of other drivers.

But seriously now, tow trucks violating every single law in the traffic book just to be the first to reach a client at an accident scene is a something out of reason.

In the following video that was shot from a dashboard mounted camera placed in one of at least three tow trucks that were racing against each other on public roads in South Korea, we see the driver passing countless red lights and entering the opposite side of the road with no consideration whatsoever for the rest of the cars.

Renault Koleos SUV Refreshed for the 2012 Model Year

It’s only three years old, but it’s apparently time for the Renault Koleos compact SUV to receive its first facelift. The changes include an exterior makeover and new interior trim, plus noticeable CO2 and fuel consumption savings in the case of the crossover model’s range of diesel powerplants.

The first thing you’ll notice on the updated model is the brand new fascia, evidently inspired by the newly launched Latitude sedan, which like the Koleos, is the product of Renault Samsung Motors in Busan, South Korea.

Argentina Agrees to Allow Hyundai and Kia Imports for Peanuts – Literally…

Argentina’s exports for imports saga continues, with South Korean carmaker Hyundai agreeing to export peanuts, wine, biodiesel and soy flour to offset the US$91 million (€64 million) it added to Argentina’s growing trade deficit in 2010. Partner company / subsidiary Kia has agreed export white goods and plastics for their contribution.

The South American nation’s US$6 billion (€4.19 billion) trade deficit has already led to one Porsche distributor agreeing to export wine and olive products, while similar deals have been struck with carmakers Chery, GM, Peugeot-Citroen, Alfa Romeo, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, Fiat and Ford.

Renault Samsung Debut New SM7 Saloon in South Korea

The Renault-Nissan alliance’s South Korean subsidiary Samsung has presented the production version of its SM7 sedan model, which was displayed as a thinly disguised concept car at the 2011 Seoul Motor Show this past April.

Putting aside some minor details such as the lower parts of the front and rear bumpers, and the less extravagant choice of alloy wheels, nothing else has changed from the concept model.

Hyundai Set to Become Sixth Biggest Automaker in the U.S. In 2011

In the realm of U.S. automotive sales, 8% is a magic number. When an automaker hits 8%, they know they’ve become one of the big guns. Ford, Chevrolet, Toyota, Honda, Dodge and Nissan have all made it, and 2011 is expected to be Hyundai’s year.

So sayeth market research firm Polk, and I’m tempted to agree. Hyundai and its partner-brand / internal rival Kia have steadily been evolving into truly world-class carmakers. They’re keenly priced, inoffensive to look at and comprehensively covered quality-wise – everything the vast majority of new car buyers want in this day and age.

2011 Hyundai Elantra / Avante: First Official Picture of Interior

If you have been wondering what the interior of the all-new 2011 Elantra, or as it is known in its home market, the Avante MD, looks like, here's the first official photo of the compact sedan's cabin.

As expected, the overall design of the dashboard continues the same "sculpted" theme seen on the new Sonata's interior, enhanced with more edges and swoopy lines. It also gets an instrument panel with a pair of tunneled main gauges (speedometer and tachometer), as well as unique controls for the HVAC system on the center console and plenty of faux metal trim.

Obama Speaks at New Battery Plant, Tries Out Chevy Volt Driver's Seat

U.S. President Barack Obama had the chance to get behind the wheel -but not on the road- of the new Chevy Volt during a visit today at the Compact Power battery plant in Holland, Michigan. The new plant, which is being built by a U.S. unit of South Korea's LG Chem with help from a $151.4-million federal grant, will manufacture batteries for the Volt, which goes on sale late this year, as well as for the new electric Ford Focus. The company estimates that it will hire more than 300 full-time Michigan workers when at scale.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Obama said he expects that manufacturing advances will drive down costs of fully-eclectic and hybrid vehicles over the next few years.

"Because of advances in the manufacture of these batteries, their costs are expected to come down by nearly 70 percent in the next few years," the President said. "That's going to make electric and hybrid cars and trucks more affordable for more Americans. And that not only means more jobs but it also means we're going to be less dependent on foreign oil." Follow the jump for the full transcript of Obama's speech at the battery plant.
