Watch a Nissan GT-R go from 0 to 312km/h [194mph] on the Autobahn

There's no doubt that the Nissan GT-R is built for speed. But while a side road or better yet, a racetrack is probably the most enjoyable place from a driving perspective to unleash its 480 to 550-horses (depending on the year and model), if you want to explore how fast it can go, Germany's world famous Autobahn is the place to be.

This brings us to the video you're about to watch after the jump and which shows a GT-R going from zero to 312km/h (that's 194mph) on the German highway. Enjoy...

Shocker: Crash Tests Reveal that Most Cars Sold in Latin America are Deathtraps on Wheels

The FIA Foundation announced the results of the first ever crash tests carried out by the Latin New Car Assessment Program (Latin NCAP), and the news isn’t good for consumers and automakers alike.

Actually, the crash test results reveal a terrifying reality: most of the best selling cars in Latin America’s emerging markets offer minimal or no protection at all to their adult occupants let alone children...

Max Mosley, president of Global NCAP, said: “The latest results of the Latin NCAP reveal that South America’s most popular cars are still about 20 years behind the levels of safety enjoyed in Europe and North America. This cannot be acceptable.”

"We want to see the UN’s global crash test standards applied to all new cars across the world. And we want consumers to be aware of the life and death choices they make when buying a new car," Mosley added.

485HP Nissan Juke-R Hits the Silverstone Circuit Earlier than Expected [Video]

We're not sure if this video of the Nissan Juke R being tested at the Silverstone race track in England was supposed to hit the airwaves (or so to speak) before the Japanese firm's upcoming 10th installment of its web series, but we're not the ones to complain.

At least for the video footage, that is, because someone ought to inform the auto buffs over at Spain's AutoHebdo Sport that when you show a video of a car like the Juke-R that's fitted with a 485HP-strong powerplant sourced from the GT-R, you shouldn't add any background music let alone, a techno beat…

Nissan Juke-R Video No9: The Finishing Touches

There's no question that Nissan is milking the hype surrounding the Juke R as much as it can. Up until now, the Japanese automaker has published nine videos (including the one you're about the watch after the break) on the building process while it also issued separate footage and a gallery on the finished product in between.

This week's footage is called "Finishing Touches" and as the name suggests, it shows the teams from Nissan Europe and its technical partner RML applying the last parts on the GT-R-powered Juke including the dashboard and centre console inside and a matt black paint scheme that's both vinyl-wrapped as well as painted on the outside.

NISMO Adds Some Zing to Nissan Leaf EV with New Concept at Tokyo Motor Show

This has been a rough year for Japanese automakers but if there's one company from the Land of the Rising Sun that's showing a lot of potential, that would be Nissan - be that with its quirky looking Juke crossover, the pure electric Leaf or the tarmac-shredding GT-R sports car.

Perhaps the most important news coming from Nissan at the Tokyo Motor Show is the company's decision to heavily invest in its performance arm NISMO and expand its offerings to include more focused editions of Nissan's mainstream models.

New Nissan Juke Nismo Concept Sports up for the Tokyo Motor Show

Nissan just couldn't wait for the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show on Wednesday to share the news on a fresh concept version of its Juke crossover prepared by its in-house motorsports and performance division, Nismo.

Unlike the extremely radical Juke-R project, which features the inner works of the GT-R sports car including its twin-turbo V6 engine and advanced all-wheel drive system, the Juke Nismo concept is a very realistic study for a down-to-earth sporty variant of the regular model.
