AC Schnitzer Reveals 2012 BMW 650i Coupe Tune Ahead of Essen Motor Show [with Video]


Looking to offer enthusiasts more options for customizing the new 2012 BMW 6-Series Coupe, AC Schnitzer will unveil its new tuning program for the 650i at this week's 2011 Essen Motor Show in Germany.

Dubbed the ACS6 5.0i, the package includes a performance upgrade with unspecified modifications for the 4.4-liter turbocharged V8 engine that help lift output from 407HP to 540-horses.

Essen Motor Show: AC Schnitzer Adds Speed and Style to New BMW 1-Series F20


Making its world premiere at this week's 2011 Essen Motor Show in Germany is AC Schnitzer's tuning program for the new BMW 1-Series F20 hatchback with both styling and performance upgrades.

AC Schnitzer starts with a power kit that is available initially on the four-cylinder diesel models of the 1-Series, which get a reprogrammed engine control unit and other unspecified mods. In the 118d, output is lifted from 143HP to 171HP, while in the 120d, from 184HP to 210HP.

AC Schnitzer Claims to have Built the Fastest MINI with its New Eagle Concept


Is an impressive run around the Hockenheim Circuit enough to crown a car the fastest of its kind? Well, according to BMW Group tuning specialist AC Schnitzer, the answer to the above question is yes. The German company raced its John Cooper Works MINI-based Eagle Concept car at the Hockenheim Circuit recording a lap time of 1:13,341 minutes.

AC Schnitzer says the Eagle beat several thoroughbred sports cars such as the Ferrari California (1:13,5 minutes) and the Porsche 911 Turbo (1:14,6 minutes), and was left behind only by specially tuned or hardcore models like the KTM X-Bow and the BMW M3 Kompressor.

BMW X6M Receives the AC Schnitzer Treatment


Well-known BMW tuning house AC Schnitzer has set its eyes on the M version of the X6 sport crossover. The company said it is still working on a performance upgrade for the X6M's twin-turbocharged V8 engine that churns out 555HP in standard form, but buyers can choose from a variety of options that revamp the crossover's look.

The aero bodywork includes a front spoiler, roof spoiler, bonnet air-vents, rear wing, rear diffuser and design elements for the front skirt and chromed front grille. There's also a new carbon piece for the bonnet with a Plexiglas window through which the engine is visible.
